Project Overview

BMD - $1.6 Million

More than 105,000 vehicles use the ICB every weekday making it one of the city’s most important routes. It is a vital link in keeping Brisbane moving with connections to Lutwyche Road, Clem7, and two other Bampak Projects—AirportlinkM7 and Legacy Way.

Bampak constructed the new westbound on-ramp to allow general traffic from Bowen Bridge Road as well as buses from the Inner Northern Busway to connect directly to the ICB. The structure consisted of eight spans including one that joins the existing bridge and is supported by 8m high blade walls and a 115m3 concrete U-shaped headstock.

Prior to the upgrade, the ICB was operating at up to 90% capacity and would have been severely over capacity by 2021. The upgrade has now transformed Brisbane’s busiest arterial road providing increased capacity, improved travel times and safety for all road users.
